Religion Class

I'm a student at a Christian university. No matter what your beliefs, you MUST follow the class. Because the course is included on SKS (Satuan Kredit Semester / Semester Credit Units).

ps. I don't know what is SKS in english, so I'm just using that way. But maybe it's "Course Credit".

In my country, there are 6 beliefs approved.
1. Hindu
2. Buddha
3. Christian (Protestant)
4. Catholic
5. Islam
6. Confucius

All the religions above, none of them is pure Indonesia. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I guess, Hindu is from India, Buddha is from Tibet, Christian (Protestant) is from Portuguese, Catholic is from Rome, Islam is from Arab, and Confucius is from China.

Our teacher asked us, was long time ago, Indonesia has no religion? Blah-blah-blah, our teacher said; "There was a religion named 'SUKU', where Indonesian people think there's a big power above all. There's 'god'. But the bad side of 'SUKU' is, all the big place, there's the 'watchman' on it. Example; "Oh, that mountain is so big! there's a god on it! Let's bring 'Sesajian!' So we will be bless!" Or "Oh look, that's a huge rock! Let's blah blah blah....."

That's cute, yet funny, lol.

So in my class, there are only about 15 students.
3 Catholic
5 Islam
And the rest are Christian Protestant.

It's not really a big deal with those Catholic Students. But it REALLY is a problem with Islam Students. But since they are not really think it's a big problem, they followed the class. That's the risk of entering a Christian University.

When I was in Elementary, I enrolled in Catholic's School. So I'm still memorize how to pray "Aku Percaya" & "Bapa Kami" Catholic Version, "Salam Maria", and "Kemuliaan".

Dalam nama Bapa, dan Putra, dan Roh Kudus. Amin.

"Doa Aku Percaya" (Apostle Creed)
Aku percaya akan Allah, Bapa Yang Maha Kuasa, pencipta langit dan bumi;
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth;
dan akan Yesus Kristus, Putra-Nya yang tunggal, Tuhan kita;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;
yang dikandung dari Roh Kudus, dilahirkan oleh Perawan Maria;
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary;
yang menderita sengsara dalam pemerintahan Pontius Pilatus;
He suffered under Pontius Pilate;
disalibkan, wafat dan dimakamkan;
was crucified, died and was buried;
yang turun ke tempat penantian, pada hari ketiga bangkit dari antara orang mati;
He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again;
yang naik ke surga, duduk di sebelah kanan Allah Bapa Yang Maha Kuasa;
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
dari situ Ia akan datang, mengadili orang yang hidup dan mati.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
Aku percaya akan Roh Kudus,
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
Gereja Katolik yang Kudus,
the Holy Catholic Church,
persekutuan para kudus,
the communion of saints,
pengampunan dosa,
the forgiveness of sins,
kebangkitan badan,
the resurrection of the body,
kehidupan kekal,

"Doa Bapa Kami -Catholic Version-" (Our Father)

Bapa kami yang ada di surga,
Our Father who art in heaven,
dimuliakanlah nama-Mu.
 hallowed be thy name.
Datanglah kerajaan-Mu, jadilah kehendak-Mu,
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done
di atas bumi seperti di dalam surga.
on earth as it is in heaven.
Berikanlah kami rezeki pada hari ini,
Give us this day our daily bread,
dan ampunilah kesalahan kami seperti kamipun mengampuni
and forgive us our trespasses,
yang bersalah kepada kami.
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
Dan janganlah masukkan kami ke dalam percobaan,
and lead us not into temptation,
tetapi bebaskanlah kami dari yang jahat.
but deliver us from evil.

"Doa Salam Maria" (Hail Marry)

Salam Maria, penuh rahmat,
Hail Mary, full of Grace,
Tuhan sertamu;
The Lord is with thee;
terpujilah engkau di antara wanita,
Blessed art thou among women,
dan terpujilah buah tubuhmu, Yesus.
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Santa Maria, bunda Allah,
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
doakanlah kami yang berdosa ini
pray for us sinners,
sekarang dan waktu kami mati
now and at the hour of our death.

Doa Kemuliaan (Glory)

Kemuliaan kepada Bapa, dan Putra, dan Roh Kudus,
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
seperti pada permulaan, sekarang, selalu dan sepanjang segala abad,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amin.
Amen.

My country is the best! Unfortunately the government is sucked. But not all the government, hahaha......
